Rebel Rave @ MOXA (Mn) sunday 21st of April

eccoci al lunedi mattina, mi alzo all'alba per cominciare la settimana e noto sul dorso della mano destra un segno rosso sbavato...ma che cazz..aaah ora ricordo! Ieri sera (o meglio ieri pomeriggio) è stata una domenica sera diversa dalle altre, e quel segno è un rimasuglio dello stampino che il buttafuori mi ha lasciato all'entrata del MOXA. Nella bassa mantovana esiste un isola felice (forse si può anche allargare, non solo nella bassa mantovana) per i cultori del clubbing vero e proprio. Non la solita discoteca un po vecchio stile ma un vero e proprio club che ricorda situazioni più estere, insomma qualcosa di internazionale. Parlo del MOXA, rinomata location conosciuta ovunque grazie a diverse cose (che dovrebbero essere scontate per qualsiasi club): si paga un prezzo adeguato (spesso troviamo anche la free entry), si beve bene (niente peskito gusto lemonsoda aperta in frigo da 3 mesi), impianto audio potente preciso e di qualità alta (volume alto, ma se siete clienti di questo genere di locali apprezzerete), niente vocalist a spaccare i timpani con i loro "sulemaniii", impianto di video-mixing al posto di luci e strobo (che bello potersi guardare attorno senza rimanere sparafleshati) e ,forse aspetto più importante di tutti, line-up fresche, interessanti, con nomi altisonanti ma non solo. Il genere musicale è quello che ci emoziona e ci fa ballare per ore intere, fregandocene del caldo o della stanchezza, deephouse & tech house. Sempre sonorità che non arrivano alla techno vera e propria, si rimane nell'ambiente dei suoni soffici e cadenzati della deep.

Ritorniamo alla domenica appena trascorsa. Questa è la locandina dell'intera settimana appena trascorsa (l'ultimo a dx è la domenica di cui parliamo).
Un "rave" civilizzato, con subb-an e damian lazarus sugli scudi. Davvero uno spettacolo che grazie alla lunga durata ha permesso ai djs di sbizzarrirsi, partendo con la luce del pomeriggio ed arrivando alla notte. La discesa del sole è stata accompagnata da un sound che via via è diventato sempre più "cattivo" e pulsante, mentre inizialmente i suoni erano più leggeri e groovy. Proprio il momento in cui si è cominciato davvero a pompare il club è andato a fuoco, una carica stupenda per finire la settimana con un enorme punto esclamativo!
(che bravo davvero subb-an che dal vivo non avevo mai sentito, ma che conoscevo bene ed apprezzo tanto per il suo lavoro da producer. Quando ha cominciato a spingere lo ha fatto tenendo sempre dei suoni di contorno che lasciavano l'atmosfera avvolgente e non secca come accade quando si è in terra techno o minimal. So good!)

Here we are at Monday morning, I get up at sunrise to start the week and I not on the back of my right hand a red smudged ... what the fuck .. aaah now I remember! Last night (or rather yesterday afternoon) was a Sunday evening unlike any other, and that sign is a remnant of the stencil that the bouncer left me at the entrance of MOXA. In the city of Mantova (North Italy, 2hr from Milan) there is a happy island (maybe you can even expand, not only in the city of Mantova) for devotees of clubbing. Not the usual disco a bit old fashioned but a real club with an international style. I'm talking about MOXA, a famous location known worldwide thanks to several things (which should be granted to any club):
you pay an appropriate price (some times there is also the free entry),you can drink well (nothing like peskito with the taste of old lemonade), precise high quality and powerful sound system (high volume, but if you are a customer of this kind of local you'll appreciate), no vocalist ready to break your eardrums with their "putyourhandsup!!", installation of video-mixing instead of lights and strobe (nice to be able to look around without getting flashed every 2 seconds) and, perhaps most important of all, a fresh line-up, interesting, with high-sounding names but not only. Rather we found some unknown djs but really fresh and interesting. The musical genre is what excites us and makes us dance for hours, without caring about the heat or fatigue, deep house & tech house. Always sounds that do not come to techno itself, it remains in the environment of soft and rhythmic sounds of the deep.

A civilized "rave", with subb-an and damian lazarus on the shields. Really a show that due to long duration allowed the DJs to indulge themselves, starting with the light of afternoon and arriving at night. The descent of the sun was accompanied by a sound that gradually became more and more "strong" and pulsing, while initially sounds were lighter and groovy. In the moment that the djs started to really pump up the club went to the fire, a beautiful situation to finish the week with a huge exclamation point!
(Subb-an is really good. I had never heard him live, but I knew him well, and I appreciate so much his work as a producer. When he began to push strong it always kept the sound contour that left the atmosphere enveloping, not dry as it happens when you are on the ground of minimal techno. So good!)
